Goldfrapp have started work on the sixth album

BBC 6 Music:

Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory has told 6 Music that work is beginning on their new album. Having just wrapped up his debut opera Piccard In Space, Gregory claimed the time was right to start work on the follow up to 2010’s Head First. “I am ready to do it now, to get back to Goldfrapp will be a very refreshing change, ” he said. He continued: “We have, as usual, lots of stuff in the bottom drawer which we rejected the first time round, but I expect we’ll want to start a fresh this time round.” The electro duo, which includes Alison Goldfrapp formed in 1999 and are now 5 albums strong. With the music fluttering between the ambient and the euphoric, there are few clues as to how any of the songs will sound with Gregory revealing that “nothing has been planned”. “We have tried sitting down and writing lists and having coffee to talk about it, but usually we just mess about, it’s good not to be too conscious about what you do,” he said.
